Whitetail Deer Habitat
Sportman's Life Staff | Comments 0
Whitetail Deer are most common to living in states east of the Rocky Mountains, actually being absent from a lot of western states such as California, Hawaii, Alaska, Utah, and Nevada. The areas they inhabit range from southeastern British Columbia, to the mountains and aspen forests of Wyoming, to the northern areas of the Great Plains and all point eastward toward the Atlantic. Whitetails can be found in almost any river bottom or deciduous forest.
They adapt exceptionally well to a myriad of habitats and are general grazing animals sticking to mainly grasses, leaves, nuts, and berries. Larger whitetail deer can be found in Canada and northern U.S. States like Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin, while noticeably smaller whitetail deer are found in Florida.
