Whitetail Deer Diet

Whitetail deer oftentimes will walk the same path or game trail between feeding areas.  They feed on a large selection of vegetation that is usually determined by what is available in their habitat.  Everything from clover fields to buds and twigs of hardwood trees, to acorns from oak trees, prickly pear cactus in desert climates is even a part of the whitetail deer diet.  Farmers see whitetail deer in their corn, wheat, and soy bean fields as well.

Whitetail deer usually feed in the early dawn hours, even pre-dawn, and again in the early evening and nighttime hours.
