Bighorn sheep eat on lots of grasses, clover fields, and sedges that grow in warmer months. During cold months, it will eat woody plants such as a willow or sage. For the bighorn sheep that live in desert areas, they will be found eating brushy plants and cactus. When a bighorn is not grazing, it can be found laying down and chewing cud, similar to a cow.
