Moose Diet
Because Moose are so large, they have to eat a lot of food every day in order to meet their energy needs. Most estimates for an average food intake is about 80 lbs of plants daily. With that much of an intake need, they spend a lot of time searching out and grazing on food. They eat a large variety of plantlife, including leaves, ferns, grasses, mosses, broadleaf plants, and twigs. In the wild, the average lifespan for a Moose is between 8 and 12 years.
