Elk Habitat

Most Elk prefer to live in open woodlands and and will avoid thick forests when possible. Elk can also be found in evergreen swamps, clear cuts lands, aspen forests and hardwood forests, and also coniferous with hardwood areas. They live throughout a through a wide range of elevations in mountainous states, typically from sea level up to to 3000 meters above sea level, although they can also occur at even higher elevations.
