Wild Boar Habitat

Wild boars are found in a large variety of habitats since they were introduced to so many locations by people, but the habitat of a wild boar usually consists of forest and low lying shrub areas, particularly oak forests and areas where food is abundant. They are limited in their travel by snowfall, as deep snow makes it difficult for them to move and find food. They are also pretty sensitive to severe changes in temperature, which is why they wallow in cool muddy areas in the summer. It also protects from sunburn and insects. Boars prefer weather warmer than 50 degrees, but they are also prone to sunstroke in warmer months.
