Pronghorn Antelope Habitat

Their habitat ranges from the four major North American desert areas – primarily America’s Southwest – but go so far as to Mexico and North up to Saskatchewan, Canada. They thrive primarily in major grasslands, high brushlands, bunch grasses, and areas of sagebrush in open plains and deserts. Their habitat, mixed with their speed and keen eyesight makes them an exceptionally difficult game to hunt.

Pronghorn are also herding animals, so as to stay in a larger group and avoid predators. During warmer months though, you can find smaller groups or bands of Pronghorn together, and they group back up into larger herds for winter months. Pronghorn are extraordinarily mobile as well having moved hundreds of miles per year between habitats.
