Albacore Tuna
Albacore Tuna have a faint blue iridescent band along the sides of the body as well as a yellow shade in the dorsal and anal fins. They are found in open open waters of all tropical and temperate oceans and Mediterranean Sea. Their pectoral fins are very long and can be as much as 50% of the total length and are pointed. They are a large tuna and can reach sizes of 55 inches and can weigh as much as 132 pounds. Their diet consists of northern anchovy, gonatid squid, and Japanese anchovy.

Yellowfin Tuna
The Yellowfin Tuna is often referred to as the Ahi Tuna. They have a metallic dark blue or greenish top and their belly and lower sides are silvery white and crossed by many vertical interrupted lines. They have a golden stripe running along the side and the second dorsal and anal fins are bright yellow. Their finlets are bordered by a narrow band of black. They are found worldwide in tropical and sub-tropical waters but are absent in the Mediterranean Sea. They swim in schools and not necessarily of the same species. The yellowfin tuna is a large tuna and can reach sizes of 110 inches and their weight can be as much as 800 pounds, although the average is much less. Their diet consists of fish, crustaceans, squid, octopus, shrimp, lobster, and crabs.

Atlantic Bonito
The Atlantic Bonito tuna has a compressed body with a steel-blue back, no teeth on the roof of its mouth, the lower sides are a silver color, and the upper sides have five tall dark, slightly oblique stripes that run forward and backward. They can reach a size of about 30 inches and can weigh 10 to 12 pounds. They can be found in brackish or coastal saltwater areas and are migratory species often found in schools. Their diet consists of mackerel, silversides, squid, and other fish.

Pacific Bonito
The Pacific Bonito has a blue to violet color above with a metallic luster becoming silvery towards the abdomen and ten to elven stripes on its back. They can reach size of 40 inches and can weigh 25 pounds. They are found anywhere inshore to about 100 miles offshore from northern Vancouver Island to Chile.
