Pike

Pike can be identified by their olive color and shading into yellow to white along the belly and light markings on their body. They are an aggressive solitary fish with many sharp teeth in their mouth. Pike can reach lengths of 59 inches and can weigh up to 55 pounds, but the average for most pike are 18 to 20 inches in length and up to four pounds in weight. They prefer cold, clear, rocky waters and you will find most in weedy places in lakes and shallow ponds as they have tolerances for different water temperatures. Pike will feed on frogs, insects, leeches, crayfish, ducklings, and other small fish.
