Bass

Largemouth bass are the most popular of all the game fish. Largemouth bass are olive green in color, marked by a series of dark, sometimes black, blotches forming a jagged horizontal stripe along each flank. Because bass do not like bright sunlight they usually feed early in the morning or late in the evening during the summertime. Largemouth bass will eat a variety of different things from small bluegill and sunfish to crayfish, frogs and night crawlers. They like hold around downed trees, hiding around stumps, under docks and anywhere there’s thick cover so they can ambush there prey with little effort. The spring time is the best time for largemouth bass fishing as they move from the deeper water they hold in in winter to the shallow water to prepare for spawning. Largemouth bass can reach an overall length of 29.5 inches and can weigh to 20lbs.
